Eligibility / Qualification

Essential Requirements

  • Strong interest in mitochondria, protein quality control (PQC), and related molecular mechanisms
  • Ability to work as a team player and actively participate in scientific discussions
  • Solid experience in genetic and molecular biology techniques
  • Hands-on experience with high-throughput screening approaches
  • Experience in large-scale data analysis from high-throughput experiments

Meriting Criteria

  • Experience in mitochondrial biochemistry
  • Background in protein biochemistry and/or proteomics
  • Skills in proteomic data analysis
  • Experience using Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a research model

Job Description

The successful candidate will investigate the protein quality control systems of mitochondrially encoded proteins, a largely unexplored area in mitochondrial biology. The project involves:

  • Conducting unbiased genome-wide genetic screens to identify novel PQC mechanisms
  • Using Saccharomyces cerevisiae as the primary model organism
  • Applying advanced genetic, biochemical, and proteomic techniques
  • Studying spatiotemporal protein interactions using state-of-the-art methodologies
  • Actively contributing to a collaborative, inclusive, and reproducible research environment
