Postdoctoral Fellowship in Plant Cell: A 2-year postdoctoral fellowship is available in Stéphanie Robert’s research group at the Umeå Plant Science Centre (UPSC). The successful candidate will focus on understanding how positional information controls cell fate determination in plants using Arabidopsis thaliana as a model.
Postdoctoral Fellowship in Plant Cell Fate Determination
Designation
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Key Information | Details |
---|---|
Research Area | Plant Cell Fate Determination |
Location | Department of Forest Genetics and Plant Physiology, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Sweden |
Eligibility/Qualification | – Doctoral degree in molecular, cell or developmental biology, or related disciplines (obtained within the last 3 years). – Experience in single-cell RNA sequencing analysis is a plus. – Molecular skills are essential. – Proficient in English. – Ability to work independently and collaboratively. |
Job Description
The fellowship aims to unravel the mechanisms behind cell fate determination in plants by studying how physical and mechanical signals influence this process. The research will involve exploring how distinct cell identities are formed based on positional information and how mechanical cues interact with molecular pathways. Key methodologies will include single-cell RNA sequencing to assess mechanics signaling in Arabidopsis thaliana, particularly focusing on root epidermal cells’ differentiation.
