Population Genetics (Macrogenetics), focusing on genomic biomonitoring, species genetic diversity, and conservation biology.

Scholarship Description:

The fellowship involves contributing to a project that will synthesize published genetic and genomic data to explore patterns and trends in species genetic diversity, particularly for tree and/or island species. Key tasks include data collation, enrichment with species metadata, establishing standardized pipelines for analysis, and publishing findings in high-quality journals. The role offers flexibility, including part-time employment, remote working options, and opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic, collaborative research environment.

Eligibility:

  • PhD in Population Genomics, Macrogenetics, or Bioinformatics.
  • Strong knowledge of basic population genetic theory.
  • Familiarity with at least one of the following fields: conservation biology, evolutionary biology, or ecology.
  • Experience with various molecular genetic and genomic data types and common analysis methods.
  • Proficiency in using remote computing clusters for genomic data analysis.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with an interest in Open Science.

Required Documents:

  • 1-2 page cover letter detailing past research experience and interest in the position.
  • Detailed curriculum vitae (CV).
