Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships): The Postdoctoral Fellowships (PFs) under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) aim to support experienced researchers in developing their research careers. The fellowships provide funding for researchers to conduct research projects at a host organization in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country.

Research Area

All disciplines are eligible for Postdoctoral Fellowships, including research areas covered by the Euratom Research and Training Programme.

Location

The fellowship can take place in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country. For Global Postdoctoral Fellowships, the first 1 to 2 years will be spent in a non-associated Third Country, followed by a mandatory return phase of 1 year to an organization based in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Applicants must have a PhD degree at the time of the application deadline.
  • Applicants must have a maximum of 8 years of research experience from the date of their PhD award.
  • Applicants must comply with the mobility rule – they must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the country of the beneficiary (for European Postdoctoral Fellowships) or the host organization for the outgoing phase (for Global Postdoctoral Fellowships) for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the call deadline.
  • For Postdoctoral Fellowships in research areas covered by the Euratom Research and Training Programme, researchers need to be nationals or long-term residents of an EU Member State or a Euratom Associated Country.

Job Description

  • Conduct a research project of your own design in collaboration with a host organization.
  • Gain experience in other countries, disciplines, and non-academic sectors.
  • Receive a living allowance, mobility allowance, and potentially additional allowances for family, long-term leave, and special needs.
  • Participate in research, training, and networking activities.
  • Undertake a placement of up to 6 months in a non-academic organization based in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country.
