Postdoctoral Fellowship Position: NIAID, USA: The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) is offering a fully funded postdoctoral fellowship position in the Computational Systems Biology Section of the Laboratory of Immune System Biology. This position provides an opportunity to work in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment using 3D high-resolution microscopy techniques for spatially resolved computational models of cellular processes.
- Designation: Quantitative Experimental Biology Postdoctoral Fellowship
- Research Area: Spatially resolved computational models of cellular processes
- Location: National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Bethesda, Maryland
- Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in cell biology or a similar field
- Experience with single-cell microscopy
- Ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment
- Interest in quantitative biology approaches
- Good communication skills
- Job Description: The successful candidate will work with a team of experimentalists and computational modelers, focusing on using 3D high-resolution microscopy techniques to acquire dynamic images for spatially resolved computational models of cellular processes, such as chemotaxis and contact-mediated cell activation. The analysis will involve studying inhomogeneous and dynamic spatial distributions of signaling molecules and shaping polarized cellular responses. The position offers a well-rounded, interdisciplinary skill set by combining experimental work with training in computational modeling.
- How to Apply: Interested candidates should email the following to Dr. Martin Meier-Schellersheim at mschellersheim@nih.gov:
- Curriculum vitae
- Bibliography
- Names of three references who may be contacted for letters
- A short statement about their skill set
