Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024-25: Applications are invited for postdoctoral bursaries from candidates in any area of the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (IASH) offers a range of fellowships with a focus on specific disciplines and thematic areas.

Eligibility/Qualification
Applicants must:
- Hold a doctorate at the time of application, normally within the last three years
- Not have held a permanent position at a university or a previous Fellowship at IASH
- Demonstrate a strong academic record and capacity to disseminate research
- Be able to make contact with researchers at the University of Edinburgh before submitting their applications
Job Description
Successful applicants will:
- Conduct independent scholarship during a research visit at the University of Edinburgh for three to ten months
- Receive a bursary of up to £15,000, dedicated office space, University e-mail, and library access
- Engage in a lively scholarly community of visiting fellows, networking with mid-career and senior scholars
- Contribute to the collegial work-in-progress seminar series and attend engaging events at the Institute and College

Note: The bursary may be used to top up an existing postdoctoral Fellowship or as a contribution towards living expenses. No teaching required, but the maximum commitment to work other than the research project is 0.4 of a full-time position.
