Postdoctoral in Biological and Chemical Engineering: Aarhus University is inviting applications for three exciting postdoctoral positions focused on transforming CO₂ into food through innovative research in biological and chemical engineering. This interdisciplinary project aims to develop advanced technologies for producing proteins based on captured carbon dioxide.

Postdoctoral Positions in Biological and Chemical Engineering

Designation:

Postdoctoral Researcher (3 Positions)

Research Area:

  • Carbon capture and utilization
  • Process modeling and optimization
  • Biological CO₂ valorization

Location:

  • Position 1 and Position 3: AU Viborg, Burrehøjvej 43, 8830 Tjele
  • Position 2: AU main campus, Hangøvej 2, 8200 Aarhus N

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in relevant fields (chemical engineering, process systems engineering, electrochemistry, etc.)
  • Strong academic background and experience in related projects.

Job Description:

  1. Position 1:
  • Postdoc in Carbon Capture System Design, Operation, and Test
    • Lead design and operation of carbon capture units.
    • Evaluate gas quality for CO₂ separation processes.
    • Collaborate on experimental setups and optimize operations.
  1. Position 2:
  • Postdoc in Process Modeling, Integration, and Techno-Economic Analysis of CO₂-to-Food Pathways
    • Develop and optimize process models using software (e.g., Aspen Plus).
    • Conduct techno-economic evaluations and system assessments.
  1. Position 3:
  • Postdoc on Integrating a Two-Stage Fermentation Process with an Abiotic Electrodialysis Unit
    • Optimize two-stage fermentation pilot plants.
    • Operate and enhance electrodialysis systems.
