Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in laser-matter interaction or related field.
  • Excellent experimental skills.
  • Experience in cold atom physics, quantum optics, or atomic clocks is an advantage.
  • Interest in N-body quantum physics is desirable.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Contribute to assembling a new ultra-high vacuum experiment chamber and a laser cooling and trapping system.
  • Play a crucial role in achieving Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) and loading it into an optical lattice.
  • Investigate the collective spin properties of around 10,000 atoms in a 2D geometry.
  • Measure quantum fluctuations to provide evidence of entanglement.
  • Develop new tools and techniques in adaptive optics, vacuum control, and magnetic field measurements.
