Job Description:
The successful candidates will join the E.P.S.R.C. Programme Grant “Digital Navigation of Chemical Space for Function.” This role involves:
- Targeting the development of new materials with specific properties, particularly for applications such as battery technology.
- Discovering new chemical compositions, including multiple anion compounds.
- Developing innovative methodologies that integrate structure prediction and machine learning to accelerate material discovery.
- Collaborating with experts in complementary fields, such as computer science and measurement physics, to enhance research outputs.
This position is available on a fixed-term basis until 30 November 2026. Candidates awaiting their PhD award will initially be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30, with a salary increase to Grade 7, spine point 31 upon confirmation of PhD award.
