Eligibility/Qualification– Master’s or equivalent degree in natural sciences, mathematics, or engineering.
– Completed doctoral degree in relevant fields.
– Track record in marine or environmental research.
SalaryGerman Salary Scale 13 TV-L/TVöD (dependent on the project partner).
Contract DurationFixed-term until at most December 31, 2028.

Job Description

The successful candidates will develop their own research projects aligned with the Cluster’s objectives. The research portfolio includes:

  • Analyzing transport processes of biogenic particles to the ocean floor.
  • Investigating carbon and element transfer between the ocean floor and seawater.
  • Assessing ecosystem responses to environmental changes.
  • Crafting scenarios for climate implications based on ocean floor data.

Fellows will be mentored by experienced scientists and have access to a structured training program aimed at enhancing professional skills and supporting interdisciplinary research.
