Research Area
The research group focuses on the developmental, cellular, and functional aspects of the olfactory system in amphibians and aquatic vertebrates. The work involves:
- Advanced imaging (confocal/multiphoton microscopy) and neurophysiological methods.
- Studying neuronal development, synaptogenesis, and regeneration.
- Conducting behavioral studies to explore olfactory cues under natural conditions.
Eligibility & Qualification
- Degree: Completed Master’s or equivalent university degree; a Doctoral degree in biology, neurobiology, or a related natural science is required.
- Skills: Experience with fluorescence microscopy, functional imaging, electrophysiological techniques, immunohistochemistry, and behavioral experiments is highly advantageous.
- Experience: Previous work with amphibians or other aquatic vertebrates is preferred.
- Languages: Good written and spoken English skills.
- Attributes: Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
Job Description
- Design, prepare, and conduct neurobiological experiments.
- Perform quantitative, statistical, and image-based data analysis.
- Prepare research results for reports, scientific presentations, and peer-reviewed publications.
- Supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s students involved in the project.
