Postdoctoral & PhD Student in Immunology: The University of Oulu’s Department of Anthropology, in the History, Culture, and Communications Unit, is seeking to hire a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher and a PhD student for a 36-month appointment. The positions are part of the Kone Foundation-funded project “In the Shadow of Carbon: Carbon Farming Knowledges and the Future of Regenerative Rural Landscapes.” The project aims to explore the implications of carbon farming for the transformation of Finnish rural landscapes and livelihoods.

Eligibility/Qualification:
Postdoctoral Researcher:
- Applicable Doctoral degree in anthropology, geography, organization studies, social studies of science, environmental humanities, or related field
- Experience in qualitative social scientific research
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills in English (proficiency in Finnish is advantageous)
PhD Student:
- Applicable MA or MSc degree in anthropology, geography, social studies of science, environmental humanities, or related field
- Interest in agri-environmental governance and/or practice
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills in English and Finnish
Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Researcher and PhD Student will collaborate with Dr. Anna Krzywoszynska and Dr. Galina Kallio to deliver the project, focusing on two interlinked work packages. Responsibilities include conducting social scientific research on carbon farming, organizing workshops, participating in outreach initiatives, contributing to policy briefs, and engaging in research funding applications.
