Postdoctoral/PhD Student Opportunity: The Swiezewski Lab is currently accepting applications for one postdoctoral position and one PhD student in the field of molecular biology. The research will focus on virus-induced seed dormancy defects, specifically analyzing how viruses impact seed biology with a focus on DOG1 expression regulation. Eligibility/Qualification: For Postdoctoral Position:

  • PhD degree in life sciences obtained less than 7 years before employment.
  • Outstanding publication record.
  • Experience in plant biology and/or RNA/chromatin field is highly desired.

For PhD Student Position:

  • Strong interest in Plant Molecular Biology.
  • Laboratory work experience.
  • Strong publication record.
  • Ability to communicate in English.

Job Description: Both the postdoctoral researcher and PhD student will investigate virus-induced seed dormancy defects, focusing on DOG1 expression regulation. Tasks include advanced molecular biology methods, data analysis, and collaboration with the research team. Postdocs are expected to have an outstanding publication record and additional experience in working with plants and/or in the RNA/chromatin field.

Funding:

  • PhD Students: 5000 scholarship not subject to tax
  • Postdocs: 8900/month brutto subject to income tax
