Postdoctoral Position (2 years): A two-year postdoctoral position is available at the Department of Plant Physiology, Umeå Plant Science Centre, Umeå University. The position is in Professor Stefan Jansson’s group, focusing on the “Regulation of the Photosynthetic Light Reaction.” The appointment is full-time and limited to 24 months with the possibility of a one-year extension. Eligibility/Qualification:
- Completed doctoral degree in biology, chemistry, biophysics, or a related field
- Experience in plant molecular biology, biotechnology, and photosynthesis measurements (e.g., fluorescence, PAM)
- Fluent in English with good communication and teamworking skills
Job Description: The selected candidate will primarily work with Arabidopsis and aspen (Populus), modifying the amount of photosynthetic proteins using CRISPR and traditional gene technology. Duties include analysis in the lab, phenotyping facility, and field, employing advanced techniques for studying photosynthesis and growth. Collaboration with technical platforms at UPSC and other project-involved scientists is integral.
