The Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (MPIB) in Martinsried, near Munich, is seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Fellow (m/f/d) to join the Research Group of Molecular and Spatial Biology of Skin, led by Thierry Nordmann MD-PhD. The successful candidate will engage in cutting-edge research to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying inflammatory skin diseases.

Eligibility/Qualifications

  • PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, or related fields.
  • Strong interest in immunology, systems biology, and translational research.
  • Proficiency in mass spectrometry-based proteomics (prior experience advantageous).
  • Competence in computational data analysis (Python or similar).
  • Prior experience in skin biology or inflammatory diseases is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Passion for collaborative and interdisciplinary research.

Job Description

The postdoctoral fellow will:

  • Conduct high-impact, multi-omic research on inflammatory skin diseases.
  • Systematically profile patient samples using advanced proteomics techniques.
  • Integrate findings with clinical applications to improve patient care.
  • Collaborate within the department of Proteomics and Signal Transduction, contributing to high-impact publications and translating research into clinical settings.
