Postdoctoral Position in the Multimethod Affect and Cognition Lab (MAClab) at Texas A&M University

Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow

Research Area: Brain-based prediction and characterization of comorbidity load/worse outcomes in anxiety disorders; Development and delivery of positive-affect-based interventions for depression and anxiety.

Location: Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, Texas A&M University

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in psychology, neuroscience, or equivalent.
  • Experimental lab experience, preferably using neurobiological methods (e.g., EEG, fMRI).
  • Clinical experience (psychiatric assessment, intervention) and task programming experience (Presentation software) are advantageous.
  • Track record of publications from an experimental lab.

Job Description: The postdoctoral fellow will collaborate closely with Dr. MacNamara on NIMH- and internally funded projects. Key responsibilities include contributing to research on brain-based prediction and characterization of comorbidity load, as well as participating in the development and delivery of positive-affect-based interventions for depression and anxiety. The position offers opportunities for academic manuscript/journal article publication, skill development in EEG and fMRI data collection and analysis, clinical assessment, paradigm development, and grant-writing. Depending on interest and qualifications, accrual of hours for clinical psychology licensure may be possible.
