Postdoctoral position at University of Bern: The Department of Physiology at the University of Bern is seeking a motivated and skilled postdoctoral fellow to join their research team for 2 years (with possible prolongation based on performance) in the field of cardiac electrophysiology. The research group aims to gain a deeper understanding of the fundamental mechanisms underlying action potential propagation and their involvement in cardiac arrhythmias, using an interdisciplinary approach that combines experiments and mathematical modeling.
Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow
Research Area: Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiac Arrhythmias, Action Potential, Bioelectricity, Physiology, Biophysics
Location: University of Bern, Switzerland
Eligibility/Qualification: The candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in a related discipline and have documented hands-on experience with basic experimental electrophysiological techniques. The candidate must be motivated to learn new methods, think critically and solve problems, and work independently as well as in a team. Good oral and written communication in English is essential. Capacities in mathematics and computer programming, and the motivation to apply these skills for the analysis of experimental data and model development, are an advantage. Knowledge of German would be useful for teaching undergraduate students.
