Postdoctoral Position at University of Pittsburgh: The University of Pittsburgh Vascular Medicine Institute has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Associate Position within the laboratories of Drs. Yvette Yien and Jesus Tejero. We are seeking highly motivated postdoctoral candidates with a keen interest in basic research and translational medicine. The selected Fellow will work under the joint supervision of Drs. Yien and Tejero and engage in research aimed at elucidating protein-protein interactions involving the CLPX mitochondrial protein unfoldase and its associated proteins in different mammalian cell types. The objective is to gain insights into the developmental and tissue-specific roles of CLPX in heme regulation. The research will involve tissue dissections, cell sorting, mammalian tissue culture, and a range of biochemical techniques such as protein purification, metabolic labeling, and enzymatic assays. The Fellow will also contribute to collaborative projects focusing on heme proteins, heme biosynthesis, and heme-mediated nitric oxide signaling.
