Postdoctoral Position for Organoid Assembly: Heidelberg University is inviting applications for a full-time postdoctoral position focused on acoustic and microfluidic organoid assembly. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Physics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field
  • Strong scientific background with a proven record of high-level research (peer-reviewed publications and conference contributions)
  • Experience with microfluidics is expected; knowledge of acoustofluidics and cell biology techniques is beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills and motivation for organoid research and bioengineering approaches

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing experiments to assess organoid and assembloid formation using microfluidic devices and ultrasound-directed cell manipulation
  • Developing microfluidic chips for cell handling and assembly, exploring combinations with various force fields such as light and magnetics
  • Analyzing the influence of guided assembly and force field manipulation on cell and tumor biology
  • Collaborating with the POEM platform head and other postdocs in the interdisciplinary POEM network
  • Integrating findings into automated cell culture processes and assisting in the generation and analysis of patient-derived or iPSC-derived organoids
