Postdoctoral Position – Hydrogen Storage, TU Delft, Netherlands

Postdoc in Netherlands

Postdoctoral Position – Hydrogen Storage: Contribute to the energy transition by working on integrated reservoir modeling and simulation in the field of underground hydrogen storage. The project aims to address critical issues related to hydrogen loss in porous media, such as geological structures, heterogeneities, and chemical reactions. Join a collaborative effort with the industry partner Shell, based at the Department of Geoscience and Engineering at TU Delft, to design multi-scale reservoir modeling and simulation studies.

Postdoctoral Position – H2Screen: Screening Tools for Ranking Depleted Gas Reservoirs for Underground Hydrogen Storage

Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher

Research Area: Integrated Reservoir Modeling, Underground Hydrogen Storage, Geoenergy, Reservoir Engineering

Location: Department of Geoscience and Engineering, TU Delft, Netherlands

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Essential: Background in geology and reservoir modeling, programming in Python, experience in reservoir simulation.
  • Desirable: Reservoir engineering experience, expertise in transport and mixing processes, knowledge in geochemistry/microbiology.

Job Description: The successful candidate will lead a comprehensive simulation study, collaborating with the industry partner Shell, to investigate the behavior of cyclic and seasonal storage of hydrogen in depleted gas reservoirs. Key responsibilities include designing and conducting multi-scale reservoir modeling and simulation studies, developing dimensionless numbers, and collaborating on laboratory experiments to characterize suitable reservoirs for underground hydrogen storage.

Conditions of Employment:
