Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics, microbiology, or related discipline.
- Skills in microbial genome analyses, Python, R, and bash scripting.
- Practical experience in executing bioinformatic pipelines.
- Basic knowledge of applied statistical methods and data visualization.
- Applied knowledge of population genetics and comparative genomics methods.
- Prior knowledge of bacterial genetics.
- Evidence of good organization, teamwork, collaboration skills, and effective written and oral communication skills.
Job Description: The selected candidate will work on a project studying the genetic mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in enterococci. Responsibilities include genomic analyses of enterococci genomes, establishing concordance between phenotypic and genotypic antibiotic resistance, and presenting and publishing study results. The role involves collaboration with scientists at the University of Cambridge and the Wellcome Sanger Institute (UK).
