Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics, microbiology, or related discipline
- Skills in microbial genome analyses
- Working knowledge of Python, R, and bash scripting
- Practical skills in executing bioinformatic pipelines
- Basic knowledge of applied statistical methods
- Data visualization skills (ggplot2)
- Applied knowledge of population genetics and comparative genomics methods
- Prior knowledge of bacterial genetics
- Evidence of good organization, teamwork, and collaboration skills
- Evidence of effective written and oral communication skills
Job Description:
The successful candidate will: - Analyze large genomic datasets to study antibiotic resistance mechanisms in enterococci
- Collaborate with scientists at the University of Cambridge and the Wellcome Sanger Institute
- Conduct genomic analyses to establish concordance between phenotypic and genotypic antibiotic resistance in enterococci
- Present and publish research findings
