Postdoctoral Position in Biology/Intravital Microscopy: Join the Zindel Lab at the University of Bern and Bern University Hospital as a postdoctoral researcher in the SNSF-Starting-Grant-funded “MACScar – Macrophage Aggregation Control against Scarring” project. Be part of a pioneering team exploring the cellular and molecular immune mechanisms of sterile injury repair in body cavities. The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and understanding the biology of body cavity macrophages and innate immunity to sterile injury.
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher (100% SNSF-funded)
Research Area: Macrophage Biology/Intravital Microscopy
Location: University of Bern and Bern University Hospital, Switzerland
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Immunology or a related field
- Mandatory willingness to conduct animal experiments; previous hands-on experience with mice (FELASA)
- Required skills in flow cytometry, multiphoton microscopy, and scRNA/ATAC-seq
- High motivation and analytical mindset to tackle the complexity of the proposed project
Job Description:
Postdoctoral Position in Macrophage Biology/Intravital Microscopy
- Study the cellular activation and fate of GATA6+ cavity macrophages in homeostasis, repair, and disease
- Utilize a new multiphoton microscope for intravital microscopy using a fluorescent reporter mouse system
- Perform and analyze next-generation screening experiments in the murine and human system
