Postdoctoral Position in Future Blue Carbon Scenarios
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Future Blue Carbon Scenarios in Coastal Ecosystems
Location: University of Victoria, UBC, McGill, or Remote
Eligibility/Qualifications:
- PhD in ecology, geography, biological oceanography, statistics, or related discipline
- Strong publication record and project completion track record
- Proficiency in statistical programming languages (R, Python, or Matlab) and ArcGIS
- Experience with data synthesis and large spatial datasets
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Job Description:
- Develop scenarios for future coastal ecology based on spatial data and models
- Analyze and visualize scenarios for future habitats and carbon storage implications
- Collaborate with Blue Carbon Canada team, scientists, and partners
- Communicate project details effectively with colleagues and mentors
- Contribute to an inclusive research environment and knowledge sharing
- Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences
