Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related fields.
  • Advanced experience with aberration corrected Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (EELS), and Cathodoluminescence (CL).
  • Hands-on experience with light injection or collection in TEM.
  • Strong interest in noble nanoparticles and chiroptical response.

Job Description

  • Characterize optical responses at the single particle level in TEM and utilize EELS and CL techniques.
  • Develop innovative methodologies to probe the chiroptical response in TEM.
  • Conduct 3D structural characterization of chiral nanoparticles using electron tomography and SEEBIC.
  • Collaborate with international partners at CIC Biomagune, University of Vigo, and University of Michigan.
  • Publish research findings and present at national and international conferences.
  • Complete requirements of the doctoral school at the University of Antwerp.
