Postdoctoral Position in Materials Science: The J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry invites applications for a postdoctoral position (fixed-term until 31.12.2024) in materials science. Located in Prague, Czech Republic, the institute is a leading research institution in the field of physical chemistry. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD degree or equivalent research experience in physics, chemistry, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent academic qualifications.
  • Outstanding communication skills with proficiency in English.
  • Skills and experience in synthesis and characterization of CPs, MOFs, COFs, or related materials.
  • Expertise in optical spectroscopy, time-resolved fluorescence, molecular magnetism, electrochemical analysis, and density-functional theory.

Job Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for synthesizing crystalline CPs, MOFs, or COFs and conducting experimental studies on properties such as photoluminescence, electroluminescence, fluorescence lifetime, molecular magnetism, or electrochemical energy storage. Depending on skills, there will be opportunities to engage in calculations of band structure and optical properties using density-functional theory. The position involves collaboration with an international research team.
