Postdoctoral Position in Membrane Protein: The Concepcion Lab at the University of Chicago is looking to hire a creative, highly motivated, and enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher to advance studies on membrane proteins and ion channels in immunity. This is an exciting opportunity for a researcher with a strong background in immunology to contribute to impactful research in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, using model systems that span primary murine immune cells, human cell lines, and transgenic mouse lines.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in a relevant field.
  • Strong background in immunology; candidates without this expertise will not be considered.
  • Minimum of one first-author publication in a high-impact journal.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, along with problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated independence, adaptability, and enthusiasm for research.

Job Description: The successful candidate will lead projects focused on studying membrane proteins that regulate immune responses in both innate and adaptive immune cells. Experimental work will include cellular and molecular biology techniques, along with the use of murine models in infection, autoimmunity, and cancer research. The postdoctoral researcher will also be encouraged to pursue independent research ideas that align with lab goals, supported by advanced laboratory methods and mentorship in grant and manuscript writing.
