PhD Fellowship IN Switzerland

Postdoctoral Position in Metabolism: The group of Prof. Alexis Jourdain at the University of Lausanne invites applications for a postdoc position. This in vivo project, funded by the Swiss Cancer League, builds on recent discoveries regarding the role of uridine in physiology and cancer metabolism. The project aims to investigate uridine catabolism using knockout mouse models and evaluate potential inhibitors as cancer treatments.

Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher

Research Area: Metabolism, Cancer Metabolism, Immunometabolism

Location: University of Lausanne, Switzerland

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (e.g., metabolism, cancer)
  • Experience working with mouse models
  • High communication skills for teamwork
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic for science, and determined
  • At least one original first-author manuscript published or close to publication (including in BioRxiv)
  • Strong spoken and written competency in English (French is not necessary)

Job Description:
The postdoctoral researcher will work on an in vivo project exploring uridine catabolism in cancer metabolism. The key responsibilities include:

  • Crossing and characterizing newly generated knockout mouse models to study their physiological impact on cancer development and anti-cancer immunity.
  • Evaluating inhibitors of uridine catabolism in vitro and assessing their potential as cancer treatments in vivo.
  • Collaborating with researchers at the University of Geneva, CHUV, and EPFL to advance the project.
