  • PhD in Bioengineering, Biology, Physiology, or related fields.
  • Preferably experienced in advanced in vitro models, epithelial/endothelial barriers, and organoid differentiation.
  • Skills in microfluidics, optical microscopy, and biochemical assays.
  • In-depth knowledge of kidney physiology and molecular biology techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive work attitude.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written).
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, international environment.

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop new cell-culture platforms and tissue models mimicking the kidney microenvironment.
  • Use these platforms to culture stem-cell-derived renal cells, creating a functional renal tubular unit.
  • Characterize the tubular unit to ensure it accurately replicates kidney tissue functions.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and biologists at ETH Zurich and Novartis AG.
  • Work in a highly interactive and interdisciplinary field of preclinical testing and drug development.
