Postdoctoral Position in Molecular Epidemiology: The Bhattacharya Lab for Computational Genomics, located within the Department of Epidemiology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher. The lab is dedicated to using and advancing computational genomics tools to gain insights into the genetic and molecular underpinnings of breast cancer risk and outcomes, as well as human development during gestation.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Recent or imminent Ph.D. graduate with formal training in one or more of the following: statistical human genetics, bioinformatics, genetic/molecular epidemiology, computational genomics or biology, statistics, or biostatistics.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, C++, or equivalent.
  • Strong commitment to research projects focused on applying principles of statistical genomics and molecular epidemiology to understand breast cancer and developmental trait etiology.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Job Description:

Postdoctoral Research Position in Statistical Genomics and Molecular Epidemiology

The Postdoctoral Researcher will work within the Bhattacharya Lab and collaborate with local, national, and international partners to conduct research in the field of computational genomics. The primary research objectives are to understand the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying breast cancer risk and outcomes, as well as the development of traits during gestation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research using computational genomics tools.
  • Collaborating with a diverse team of researchers.
  • Developing a research program that aligns with the lab’s goals.
  • Applying statistical genomics and molecular epidemiology principles to research projects.
  • Leveraging local and international collaborations for enhanced research outcomes.
