Study in Sweden

Postdoctoral Position in Optical Metasurfaces: Linköping University is seeking a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher to join the Organic Photonics and Nanooptics group at the Laboratory of Organic Electronics. This position is part of an ERC-funded project focused on dynamically tuneable metasurfaces for visible light. The successful candidate will engage in cutting-edge research that combines nanotechnology and optical engineering.

Designation:

Postdoctoral Researcher

Research Area:

Optical Metasurfaces, Organic Photonics, Nanooptics

Location:

Linköping University, Norrköping, Sweden

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A PhD or equivalent in physics, materials science, chemistry, or a related field.
  • Strong interest and preferably experience in the design, fabrication, and characterization of optical phase-gradient metasurfaces and/or electrochemically tunable materials.
  • Meritorious experience in:
  • Nanofabrication techniques (e.g., electron-beam lithography)
  • Relevant characterization and measurement methods
  • Electrochemical redox-tuning
  • Optical modeling

Job Description:

The postdoctoral researcher will work on dynamic optical nanoantennas and metasurfaces utilizing redox-tunable organic materials. Responsibilities include:

  • Development and characterization of nanostructured materials.
  • Design and fabrication of samples and devices using electron-beam lithography.
  • Characterization and measurement of final metasurface devices.
  • Conducting optical simulations primarily through finite-difference time-domain methods.
  • Collaborating within a vibrant research team to contribute to both fundamental understanding and practical applications, such as dynamic metalenses or holograms.

How to Apply:

Interested candidates should submit their application, including the following documents:

  1. Cover Letter (maximum 2 pages): Outline your interest and suitability for the position, as well as how you can contribute to the research team.
