Postdoctoral Position in Optoelectronics: ICFO is seeking up to two postdoctoral researchers for a project focused on developing advanced, low-cost CMOS-compatible intersubband optoelectronic devices (photodetectors and light emitters) using colloidal quantum dot technology. These positions offer motivated scientists an opportunity to enhance their careers within a collaborative and stimulating environment.
Postdoctoral Position in Development of Low-Cost CMOS Compatible Intersubband Optoelectronics
Designation:
Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area:
CMOS-Compatible Intersubband Optoelectronics, Infrared Colloidal Quantum Dot Photodetectors and Light Emitters
Location:
ICFO, Castelldefels (Barcelona), Spain
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in Material Science, Physics, or Electrical Engineering (or near completion) from an internationally recognized institution.
- Proven experience in the fabrication, characterization, and optimization of optoelectronic devices for photodetection and light emission based on intersubband transitions.
- Proficiency in mid- and long-wave infrared (MWIR and LWIR) optoelectronics, with additional expertise in infrared (particularly MWIR and LWIR) as a plus.
- Knowledge of intersubband transitions in quantum confined materials and devices.
- Skills in setting up optical and electronic device characterization systems in infrared regimes.
- Additional experience in charge transport studies, low noise techniques, and/or optical instrumentation for MWIR and LWIR is desirable.
- Experience in colloidal quantum dot optoelectronics is advantageous but not mandatory.
Job Description:
Successful candidates will work with the Functional Optoelectronic NanoMaterials group, led by Prof. Gerasimos Konstantatos, to develop highly performant, CMOS-compatible infrared photodetectors and light emitters based on colloidal quantum dots. The research focuses on advancing infrared colloidal quantum dot films engineered at both atomic and supra-nanocrystalline levels, aimed at applications in safety, security, remote sensing, environmental monitoring, and thermal imaging.
How to Apply:
Qualified candidates should submit the following documents:
- A Cover Letter, including a statement of interest, previous research achievements, and future research aspirations.
- A Curriculum Vitae, including research publications and contact details.
- Contact emails of two potential referees, who may be asked to provide reference letters if required.
Applications and informal inquiries about the application process can be directed to jobs@icfo.eu. For scientific inquiries, candidates can reach out to Prof. Gerasimos Konstantatos at gerasimos.konstantatos@icfo.eu.
