Eligibility/Qualification: Candidates with a completed (or nearly finished) PhD in Chemistry are eligible to apply. A background in homogeneous catalysis, organic chemistry, and/or organometallic chemistry is preferred. Strong experience in reaction optimization and development, organic synthesis, inert atmosphere techniques, or DFT calculations is valuable. Soft skills such as problem-solving abilities, independence, creativity, and a willingness to learn are welcomed. Motivated individuals with an interest in developing new reactions and increasing sustainability in organic synthesis in academic and industrial environments, such as Pharma, are encouraged to apply. Good knowledge of English (writing and speaking) is required.
Job Description: The appointed Postdoctoral Researcher will have a 1+1 year (renewable) contract with a competitive salary based on experience. They will conduct research under the supervision of Dr. Fabio Julia, contributing to the development of catalytic methodologies for organic synthesis using iron photocatalysis. The researcher will work in a synthetic lab and be involved in the design and development of methodologies, mechanistic studies, and the preparation of organic and inorganic compounds. Other responsibilities include preparing reports and scientific manuscripts, literature searches, and participating in meetings. Collaboration with other academic groups or the pharmaceutical industry may be considered.
