Postdoctoral Position in Organometallic Chemistry: The Namur Institute of Structured Matter at the University of Namur, Belgium, invites applications for a postdoctoral position in organometallic chemistry. The position, beginning in February 2024, is part of the BatFactory research project focusing on the synthesis of lithium borate salts for battery electrolytes. Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in organometallic or electrosynthesis obtained within the last two years
- Strong knowledge and experimental skills in preparative purification techniques and structural characterization of organometallic molecules (NMR, GC-MS, IR, UV-Vis)
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and oral)
- Autonomy, motivation for fundamental research, and a collaborative team spirit
- “International mobility situation”: Not having resided or carried out the main activity in Belgium for more than 24 months before January 2024
Job Description: The postdoctoral research program will involve collaborative computer-guided development of new lithium borate salts, their large-scale synthesis, and investigating fundamental structure/properties relationships to enhance electrolyte performance. The researcher will be actively involved in organometallic synthesis, electrolyte preparations, and characterizations using NMR spectrometry and electrochemistry. Collaboration with other research groups is an integral part of the project.
