Postdoctoral Position in Pastore’s Lab: A postdoctoral position is available in Pastore’s Lab at the Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM) located in Pozzuoli, Naples, Italy. The position is focused on investigating the role of lysosomes in the liver pathology associated with Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. The project involves working with a 3D organoid system and in vivo models to study liver disease. The position is available starting from July 2023.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Biology or a related discipline.
  • Background in the field of 3D cellular systems, autophagy, and liver biology preferred.
  • Excellent skills in cell biology and molecular biology techniques.
  • Previous experience with imaging highly desirable.
  • Highly motivated, able to work independently and as part of a research team.
  • Good communication skills.

Job Description: The selected postdoctoral candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Conducting research on the role of lysosomes in liver pathology associated with Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency.
  • Modeling liver disease using a 3D organoid system and in vivo models.
  • Performing cell biology and molecular biology experiments.
  • Utilizing imaging techniques for data analysis.
  • Working independently and as part of a research team.
  • Communicating research findings effectively.
