Postdoctoral Position in Photo-electrochemical: The University of Amsterdam invites applications for a fully-funded Postdoctoral Position in the field of photo-electrochemical small molecule conversion. The position is available for 7 months, starting as soon as possible and no later than January 1, 2024. The project is funded by the NWO-XS program and is focused on developing novel gas-diffusion photoelectrodes, integrating molecular CO2 reduction catalysts, and using (spectro-)electrochemical techniques for material characterization.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Recent Ph.D. degree in (supramolecular) catalysis, with a strong focus on photo- or electrochemical small molecule conversion.
  • Knowledge in the synthesis of organic conducting polymers and/or experience with (photo-)electrochemical characterization is advantageous.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Synthesis and structural characterization of materials.
  • Photo-electrochemical characterization.
  • Device design.
  • Supervision of Ph.D. students in the team.
  • Reporting results and communicating findings through peer-reviewed publications and conferences.
