The successful candidate will work on the development of microporous polymers for the separation of fluid mixtures. Specifically, the focus will be on characterizing the structural and dynamic properties of confined fluids, transposing molecular results to the macroscopic scale, and using realistic models of mixtures in microporous polymers.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in physics, statistical mechanics, physical chemistry, or materials science.
- 1 to 4 years of experience in scientific programming and molecular simulations.
Job Description:
The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in:
- Developing realistic models of mixtures in microporous polymers using molecular simulations.
- Characterizing the structural and dynamic properties of confined fluids and their interactions with polymer surfaces.
- Transposing molecular results to the macroscopic scale using a network-based approach.
- Using the network model to predict the macroscopic permeability and selectivity of PIM membranes.
