Postdoctoral Position in Plant Molecular: Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position in plant molecular biology. We are seeking a highly self-motivated individual with strong molecular biology skills to investigate the molecular and biochemical mechanisms underlying chloroplast formation in plants. This research is part of our focus on novel gene discovery and understanding their impact on plant metabolism and plastid development. The project involves elucidating how a newly isolated gene induces ectopic chloroplast formation through a combination of molecular, biochemical, and genetic approaches, utilizing cutting-edge technologies. Additionally, the postdoc will have the freedom to explore additional research projects related to either model or crop species.
Designation: Postdoctoral Research Associate
Research Area:
The primary research focus is on understanding the molecular and biochemical mechanisms responsible for chloroplast formation in plants. This includes investigating novel gene discovery and its impact on plant metabolism and plastid development. The project encompasses molecular, biochemical, and genetic approaches, as well as the utilization of advanced technologies to elucidate these mechanisms.
