Eligibility/Qualification:
- Applicants must possess a PhD from an accredited university by September 1, 2023, in fields such as Environmental Studies, Urban Studies, Urban Planning, Public Policy, Human Geography, Anthropology, or related disciplines.
- Expertise in urban stream research, sustainable water resource management, spatial analyses, climate vulnerability analysis, and climate adaptation planning is required.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory, and proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Applicants should have skills in organization, time management, flexibility, data management, undergraduate and/or graduate student management, oral and written communication, and scientific publication.
Job Description:
Postdoctoral Position in Social Vulnerability and Resilience of Urban Stream Corridors
As a Postdoctoral Scholar, you will:
- Coordinate social science data collection efforts, including rapid trash assessments, social vulnerability surveys, and land use analyses.
- Supervise graduate and undergraduate students and fieldwork crews.
- Collaborate with partners from academia, local government, and nonprofits to conduct fieldwork, research permitting, and surveys.
- Lead field data collection campaigns at various stream sites within the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Analyze and integrate data using quantitative and qualitative analysis skills, as well as ArcGIS proficiency.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary research and publish findings in scientific journals.
- Collaborate compassionately, inclusively, and effectively with a diverse team.
