Postdoctoral Position in Synthetic Organic Chemistry: The Ullrich Jahn Group is inviting applications for a postdoctoral research position focused on the development of innovative amination reactions using persistent nitrogen-centered radicals. The successful candidate will work on synthesizing nitrogen-rich organic molecules and collaborate on pharmacological assessments.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD degree in Organic Chemistry
  • Expertise in organic chemistry, particularly in methodology development and mechanism elucidation
  • Ability to independently design and perform complex syntheses and develop synthetic methodologies
  • Proficiency in analytical and laboratory techniques
  • Strong data analysis and summarization skills
  • Collaborative team player who is organized, self-motivated, and enthusiastic
  • Proficient in English (both written and spoken)

Job Description:

The project focuses on developing new amination reactions essential for synthesizing nitrogen-rich small organic molecules. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and executing synthetic methodologies
  • Analyzing and summarizing experimental data
  • Collaborating on pharmacological profiles through electrophysiology assessments
  • Assessing analgesic properties of synthesized molecules in preclinical pain models
