Eligibility/Qualification:
- Education: PhD in Life Sciences (acquired within three years of the application deadline) or proof of imminent completion by the start date.
- Experience:
- Strong interest and expertise in molecular biology and immunology.
- Skills in molecular immunology techniques (e.g., CRISPR, transfection/electroporation, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, sequencing).
- Proficiency in human immunology methods (blood handling, tissue culture, flow cytometry).
- Computational biology expertise is an advantage, or willingness to learn.
- Additional Requirements:
- Collaborative working style in a multicultural team.
- Proficiency in oral and written English communication.
Job Description:
The selected postdoctoral researcher will investigate immune-mediated diseases with a focus on sex differences. This includes utilizing CRISPR systems for gain and loss of function studies in primary human immune cells, combined with advanced profiling techniques such as:
- Transcriptomics (bulk & scRNA-seq).
- Epigenomics (CUT&RUNseq).
- Immunophenotypic profiling (cytometry).
The position is part of the Systems Immunology Lab, led by Assistant Professor Camila Consiglio. The lab fosters a respectful, supportive, and stimulating environment with a team comprising MSc students, PhD candidates, and postdocs.
