Postdoctoral Position in Tumor Immunity: The University of Gothenburg is seeking an accomplished researcher for a Postdoctoral position in Tumor Immunity at the Institute of Biomedicine. This full-time, temporary position will focus on the role of unconventional T cells in tumor immunity and contribute to innovative immunotherapy research.

Research Area:

The research focuses on understanding unconventional T cells, particularly γδ T cells and mucosa-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells, and their contributions to anti-tumor immunity. The goal is to enhance immunotherapy techniques leveraging these immune components.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A PhD in Immunology or a related field is mandatory.
  • Research experience in immunology with a demonstrated ability to plan and execute independent studies.
  • Strong background in writing and interpreting scientific literature.
  • Flow cytometric analysis experience is a significant advantage.
  • Skills in isolating and culturing primary human cells from tissues, as well as in bioinformatic analysis and advanced microscopy, are preferred.
  • Organizational skills and a cooperative mindset are essential.

Job Description:

  • Conduct independent research focusing on the role of unconventional T cells in tumor immunity.
  • Plan, execute, and analyze experiments aimed at elucidating cytotoxic mechanisms.
  • Present research findings in scientific journals and at conferences.
  • Participate in collective research efforts, including isolating cells from tissue samples.
  • Mentor and supervise students.
  • Maintain specific pieces of equipment and contribute to internal discussions.
