Postdoctoral Position (M/F/D): The Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids in Dresden is offering a full-time postdoctoral position in the Department of Topological Quantum Chemistry. The position focuses on discovering new topological materials and conducting photoemission experiments.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Completed university degree and PhD in the field of physics and materials science.
  • Ability to work in a team and at the interdisciplinary level.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • In-depth knowledge in quantum condensed matter physics, with an emphasis on band topology.
  • Hands-on experience in ARPES is mandatory.
  • Experience in laser light source is preferred.

Job Description:

  • Discovering new topological materials (insulators, semimetals, superconductors).
  • Carrying out photoemission experiments in synchrotron beamlines.
  • Maintenance of the in-house ARPES system.
  • Analysis and summarizing experimental results.
  • Presentation of experimental discoveries in scientific journals and international conferences.
  • Working in collaboration with PhD students and research technicians.
