Postdoctoral position – Microbiota Interaction: Mount Sinai School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated individual for a full-time Postdoctoral position in the field of host immunity/microbiota interaction. The successful candidate will join Dr. Karen Edelblum’s lab at the Icahn School of Medicine to investigate the interaction between the intestinal microbiota and gamma delta T cells in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients and murine models.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in cell biology, microbiology, immunology, or related fields
  • Expertise in microbiome bioinformatics, multi-dimensional flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy
  • Additional skills in gnotobiotics, intestinal biology, T cell biology, and mouse husbandry are valued
  • Self-motivated with effective written and oral communication skills

Job Description: The successful candidate will lead independent research projects investigating the contribution of specific microbiota in the regulation of gamma delta T cells in IBD. Responsibilities include planning and conducting experiments, analyzing data, writing reports, mentoring, and presenting research findings at professional meetings.
