Postdoctoral Position on “EV Batteries”: The Faculty of EEMCS together with ET at the University of Twente is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join a multidisciplinary research team focused on multi-physical models and digital twins for battery systems. This position is part of the HORIZON EU project “FreeTwinEV” in collaboration with the Slovak University of Technology (STU) and Linz Centre of Mechatronics.

Location: University of Twente, Enschede, Netherlands
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Required PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on modeling and simulation.
- Desired knowledge and experience in building digital twins of complex systems.
- Experience with battery systems, experimental setups, battery management systems, thermal management systems, and state-of-the-art models.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and/or C++.
- Familiarity with real-time simulation software and control of battery converters (experience with FEM analysis is a plus).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Job Description: As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will:
- Define EV battery system architecture and develop high-fidelity multi-physics models suitable for digital twin application.
- Implement the digital twin framework, including data integration, model development, communication protocols, and validation.
- Develop advanced methods for estimating battery internal states and temperature distribution for optimized battery performance and lifespan.
- Collaborate closely with PhD students on battery-related research and contribute to scientific publications and presentations.
