Eligibility/Qualification:
The candidate should have a PhD degree in natural products chemistry, with experience in mass spectrometry (HRMS, metabolomics) and NMR analysis. A willingness to learn new techniques and approaches (RNA seq, genome mining, protein isolation, in vivo assay design, microbiome analyses) is essential to participate in collaborative projects. Background in analytical or organic chemistry and experience with in vivo phenotypic assays are desirable characteristics. Competitive candidates will have a record of research publications as first author in peer-reviewed journals.
Job Description:
The responsibilities include de novo structure elucidation and de-replication of metabolites. The candidate needs to be able to lead several projects, manage mass spectrometry instruments, and contribute to a team-oriented research environment. Participation in student and visitor training, and effective communication, both verbally and in writing, are essential.
