Research Area:
The PhenoMix project integrates field phenotyping, plant ecophysiology, data science, and agro-economic assessments to explore optimal combinations of legumes and cereals.
Location:
ETH Zurich, Department of Environmental Systems Science, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Zurich, Switzerland.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in agricultural sciences or a related field.
- Relevant research experience in field crop phenotyping.
- Strong statistical and programming skills (e.g., R or Python).
- Proven research excellence through peer-reviewed publications.
- Strong mentoring skills and a desire for teaching.
- Good oral communication skills in German are beneficial.
Job Description:
- Co-design and coordinate field experiments and HTFP data collection.
- Engage in field work and collect data using various phenotyping devices (e.g., RGB imaging, drones).
- Design and develop a phenotyping robot for data acquisition.
- Utilize modeling approaches to predict optimal cereal-legume combinations.
- Supervise students from BSc to PhD level and assist with lectures/seminars.
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at national/international conferences.
- Contribute to international research networks and apply for funding.
