Postdoctoral Positions in Spatial Genomics: The Fang Lab of Neurogenomics at Stanford University’s School of Medicine and Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral fellows. The successful candidates will focus on developing and applying cutting-edge technologies in spatial transcriptomics, single-cell sequencing, and machine learning to explore molecular and cellular mechanisms of cell communication in complex tissues, particularly in the human brain and tumors.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Education: Doctoral degree (or equivalent) in Genomics, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or related fields.
  • Experience:
    • Developing single-cell sequencing technologies is highly desirable.
    • A computational background is advantageous.
    • Prior experience with optical imaging is a strong plus.
  • Skills:
    • Creative, highly motivated, and problem-solving mindset.
    • Strong scholarly productivity and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Excellent communication skills with fluency in spoken and written English.

Job Description:
The selected postdoctoral fellows will:

  • Develop and refine technologies in spatial genomics, such as PLAC-seq/HIChIP, CREST-seq, snATAC-seq, SnapATAC, and 3D MERFISH.
  • Investigate how genomic content drives cellular phenotypes in the brain at the single-cell level.
  • Explore gene networks involved in intercellular communication between brain cell types at the tissue level.
  • Study how genomic variations affect cellular communication dynamics in living cells.

The overarching goal of the lab is to advance genomics tools and methodologies to understand how the genome constructs the brain with unprecedented spatial and temporal resolution.
