Postdoctoral Positions – Soft Matter Group: Two postdoctoral positions are available within the Soft Matter Group in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) at the University of Cambridge.

Postdoctoral Positions Available – Soft Matter Group
Designation: Postdoctoral Researchers
Research Area: Nucleation and Extinction in Non-equilibrium Statistical Field Theories
Location: University of Cambridge, UK
Salary Range: £36,024-£44,263

Eligibility/Qualifications:

  • Strong familiarity with statistical field theory
  • Some acquaintance with large deviation theory, or vice versa
  • Ability to combine analytical and numerical skills
  • PhD in a relevant field

Job Description:

  • Develop analytical and numerical tools for the four-fold path project
  • Explore rare events associated with phase transitions and extinctions
  • Plan and manage research objectives and projects
  • Prepare proposals and applications for external funding
  • Communicate technical material and build contacts
  • Supervise student projects and develop research skills
  • Instruction and seminar delivery on research topics
