Research Area:

The position focuses on structural and chemical biology with an emphasis on the development of chemical tools to target intrinsically disordered protein complexes.

Location:

University of Dundee, Centre for Targeted Protein Degradation, Dundee, Scotland

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Expertise in either protein mass spectrometry for chemical biology/biophysics (strong preference for native MS) or protein-ligand structural biology (X-ray or cryo-EM).
  • Experience in biophysical assay design, troubleshooting, and studying protein-ligand interactions.
  • Cloning and DNA construct design experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with recombinant protein expression systems (bacterial, insect, human).

Job Description:

  • Develop recombinant and cellular assays to monitor complex assembly.
  • Create a Native Mass Spectrometry screening platform.
  • Conduct fragment-based drug screening campaigns (both non-covalent and covalent).
  • Biophysically and structurally characterize hit compound binding.
  • Collaborate with team members to advance identified hits into lead compounds.
